There are generally two types of stitches used in magazines as well as multipage brochures – perfect binding and saddle stitching. Perfect binding is used when there are more than 28 pages of documents and this is the minimum requirement from most printing firms. This binding looks much more professional and you may have noticed that they are always preferable for commercial magazines as well as graphical books with multiple pages.
On the other hand saddle stitch is found in brochures by companies if they are presenting the annual company profile, pamphlets, product brochures, services brochures, or even a price list. Similarly, saddle stitch has their own limitations. Page count should not exceed 100 and the pages should be multiple of 4.
