ID cards are still being utilized for many straightforward reasons. They are used to enter the facility and are notified by the gate staff or automatically track the presence of the individual with an entrance digitally recorded in a system. It is also a visual identification of the cardholder. Many universities, schools, and companies implement ID cards for attendance purposes. Some of these cards have RFID or proximity chips, some of them have magnetic stripes, and some have barcodes. All of them are used for the main purpose: either tracking the individual or unlocking the entrance door. Some ID cards are also allowed for students to log in to their lab systems. Some cards need to be shown to the machine so they can log the work hours. Some cards are required to display the photo of the holder because a camera at the entrance can match the face and the cardholder’s image at the same time.
