You may have heard this term before, “looped stitched”. You may not have used it because it is quite rare to find in the past, and this technique was only used for certain types of organisers, manuals and catalogues. Large-scale companies that used to do a lot of paperwork were ordering these looped stitch books as they needed to be updated regularly. These books are also called loop binding or loop staple binding. The wire loops extend outside the spine, so it can be inserted into the ring binder. This prevents the documents from punching the holes and avoids anything from being wasted as the documents are there to be preserved and referenced many times in the future; any hole in them may damage the paper, interrupt the valuable text or graphics. Imagine 60 paper books with small writing that may be missing near the holes, which can sometimes make it difficult to understand the whole sentence.
