In a 3D environment, many different techniques are used to light up the object. First is a point light, which provides a circular light to the object. It is good for smaller areas to light up the scene, but it usually requires fill lights to balance the overall space. Secondly, the spotlight is much more suitable for highlighting a specific area. This can be seen in libraries, photo galleries, jewellery shops, or even decor shops, where some decorations are much more expensive and require more attention. Now comes the sunlight, which is present in all softwares and this can be used to provide an even light to the whole environment. Lastly, an area light, as the name suggests, is used to cover only the area where the object is present. It is usually enough for single objects and does not require another light.
