There is a very simple theory in designing for print. Firstly, you should always remember that if the design is based on text and the background of the paper is dark then you should use lighter shades for the text. The same applies to the reverse design such as darker text will be visible on whiter or brighter backgrounds. Another aspect of the design is composition. If you have many different texts along with images to compose then try to balance the design from all angles such as if you are placing an image on the right corner then you should consider adding larger text or some other image on the left side bottom of the page. These smaller steps can make the design and printed document more appealing to the eyes and you will receive definite appreciation.
