If you go back in history and dig into the names of business cards, you will read terms such as calling card, visiting card, name card and a unique French way of saying carte de visite. In modern days, we all say it business card, but many countries still prefer it as a visiting card. Calling card is also a very good name because you are handing over a card that has a contact and especially your contact details. So calling it a calling card makes perfect sense. Moreover, name card is used in Asian countries; meishi is the name used in Japanese. In Japanese culture, they are given the card with two hands and with a bow. Name card should not be slid into the pocket, as it is considered disrespectful. It should be placed in front of you while meeting or in the card holder. Visiting card is another term used frequently in Asian countries, but in European countries, business card name is default.
