Crown metal caps are generally used for glass bottles and they require a bottle opener. These crown bottle caps have 21 teeth to grab the neck of the bottle from the top and these are airtight. A round rubber is pasted on the inner part so the bottle liquid does not get contact with the metal.
Back in 1892, it was invented by William Painter and the teeth were counted as 24 at that time. The current version has 21 teeth and is quite successfully opened each time with a bottle opener. 24 teeth version was way much tighter and at times required much force to open. These crown bottle caps are designed in different colors according to the content of the bottle. A logo of the company is preferred to place on the top of most bottles available in the market.
