Square books are compact and easy to hold especially if they are hardcover. However, they do keep some weight, and holding them for longer is not possible. So why do these hardcovers are still being produced? The main reason is that hardcover makes the pages compact and adds more durability to the book. Over time covers and their corners can wear and tear but the pages remain intact and this makes them more desirable. Hardcover books are not used in novels and storybooks. They either have very little content or they are pictorial base. They are made for long usage and can be preferred for magazines, profiles, guidebooks, etc.
