There was a time when stamps had great importance. I invited some of the guests to my country, and for their invitation, I was required to write the invitation on a printed legal paper, sign it, and have it stamped by a registered lawyer. It was the only way to invite people to your country in those days. My lawyer asked me if I need security for the people or if I will take their responsibility. As these people were from my wife’s family, and one of them was a doctor, I had to take the responsibility myself. He asked me to write their names, their professions, their addresses where they reside, and how many days they will stay in my country, so everything was written, then it was stamped by the authorities and the lawyer. I was then able to send the invitation that they needed to show to my embassy so they could receive the visa for a temporary visit. Those times are over, and many countries have a dedicated online system where any citizen can log in, and a digital invitation can be sent to an applicant.
