Being a designer for the last 20 years I have come across many different print document sizes which we call standard. Every country has its own paper and stationery sizes as there is no standard size internationally recognized and followed strictly. For example, you can check this article for different business card sizes. I have mentioned the most famous sizes of cards from 4 countries (US, UK, Australia & Japan). Another example is that the US letter is smaller in size and the A4 which is European paper is bigger. It is a challenge for printer manufacturing companies to bring the size that one golden size that fits all. Printer can even print legal size which is the most weird size used by lawyers.
