Lamp poles are erected on both sides of the road, and their distance is usually three times the height of the pole. For example, if the pole is 10 ft tall, then the distance from one pole to another should be 30 ft. This is the rule applied for the arrangement of street light poles. Lamp poles are also placed on the divider of the round, which is called median. Medians are usually built on the wide roads; otherwise, a straight line is painted so the vehicles follow their lane and do not collide. However, the safer way is to build the median with the same height of the pedestrian with curbs on both sides. Lamp poles are also used for outdoor advertising as banner structure is mounted on them to display advertising. The center of the round can have two banners on each side and can be seen on 2-way roads.
