Oil tin cans can keep a large amount of oil and they are the first choice of producers. A study in April 2015 was held to find the best packaging for oils, especially extra virgin oil. The results proved that storing the oil in tin containers showed an incremental loss of quality during storage and the best packaging material for commercial oils should be tin containers along with dark glass bottles.
On the other hand, the quality of the oil reduces especially in PE containers and clear glass bottles. After this study tin containers have been used frequently to store vegetable oil as well as other seed and flower-based frying oils.
