According to history around 600 BC during the time of Zhou dynasty, royals preferred shiny colors like gold and silver.
Nowadays, nail polish comes in a small bottle with a plastic cap. There is a stick attached under the cap and long enough to dip in the nail paint with a small brush. Nail polish comes with several different shades, textures and colors.
