Clients expect several design options from the design agency. They do want to see several color schemes and creative options. Providing too many ideas to a client is not the right start. Once you have a new company on board provide them with not more than 3 options and share your feedback on which one they should continue with. However, most typical clients would be looking for something they have already seen or similar to their competitors. You should also design according to their requirements. One idea should be unique, one idea should be according to the client and one idea can be an amalgamation of the competitors though it is not advisable but for typical clients, this is the only way forward.
