Paper has only two effects which can be achieved through a stamping process. It is a method used with metal plates to press either from the top of the letters or the back of letters. The procedure is the same for both the emboss effect and the deboss effect. The preference is decided by the customer. Mostly, the embossing effect is used in the design industry to give more value to special characters. They can be a company name, title of the book, author’s name, logo of the company, tagline of the company, address, or just a special stamp. Debossing is normally not preferred because it is described as taking away the importance of the text. After all, the letters are down rather than extruded.
To make the embossing more prominent foil printing is used for the emboss effect and it shines and reflects as compared to the rest of the text on the printed document page.
