Recently, there was a shop opened near our apartment and they brought every possible thing in the shop related to sanitary and household items. I asked them for a sewing kit and they had it. After a few days, I needed hammer they had it too. We wanted a beach umbrella and surprisingly they had that too. So, it was quite convenient for us to buy from the shop next to our house. They stayed in that place for a year and later I found out they left and closed their shop permanently. One day I met a worker who was working in that shop and he told a depressing story about the shop. He said in the beginning, we had customers daily and then gradually we were losing customers. Their shop was far from the main road and passerby could even read their shop fascia but the main problems arose when they stopped advertising. They did not even have a banner near the shop, no display stand, no a-frame, and no outdoor advertising. This reason made them shut down their shop completely. It was sad for us but they may have learned the lesson that shops should have an opening door to the road and they should consistently do marketing and advertising to run their business smoothly.
