I used to work on a website that was selling all types of icons. After flat UI design, the trend went down, and the custom orders were fewer and fewer every coming month. One of the icon set download by a person who asked for a few more custom icons. I created them and asked for a favour: if you like icons, do let us know where you have used them. So the buyer replied with a link to the website, and the buyer was a girl from Vancouver, Canada. She is also a designer, and I used to send her emails and became pen friends. She still sends me messages, and I do reply as well. Email and social media took the place of postcards. In olden days, we used to send handwritten letters and postcards to friends and pen friendships came from it. It no longer exists, but as a digital nomad I still like the traditional way of doing things. Those times were golden.
