Flags and banners are used for outdoor advertising. However, they can also be used indoors for events, exhibitions, meetings, partnership gatherings, and annual company meetings. For outdoor banner stands flags are usually mounted on a wall or the base of the stand is filled with water or sand to keep them sturdy at the same place. Due to wind gusts, they can fall so it is always recommended to mount them on the wall permanently. Indoor standing banners do not require such a mechanism, but the bottom part should be heavy enough to hold the vertical banner in place. They should also be placed against the wall so that if accidently anyone bumps into them they won’t fall.
